Lilacs

One of the main reasons I love photography is that you are able to capture the beauty of a flower or a sunset forever. It never fades, You can hang it on the wall and you can enjoy every intricacy of its petal every time you look at the photograph. It's a wonderful thing.

Photographs are also triggers for memories. A photograph instantly takes you back to an event from your past and triggers the memory you have stored in your brain. Hundreds of bits of memories flood back to you of the day. The photograph is the key that opened that memory's door.

Sometimes I look at one of the photographs I have taken in Maine or in Yosemite National Park in California and I think to myself, 'I was standing right there.'

Photographs can tell a story without saying a word. For instance. When I look at the photograph of the lilacs that I posted for this blog I am reminded of my grandmother. She loved lilacs She wore only purple, She wore Lilac perfume, and she had purple lilacs growing in her yard.

As I said before, I always add photographs to my books. I think photographs add interest for the readers. Many books that were published in the 1800s were illustrated. Maybe I am remembering when I published books in my past life. It's possible. You know, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.
